• Augusta Water, formerly the Augusta County Service Authority (ACSA), was chartered in March 1966 to centralize the provision of water and sewer service to County residents. We maintain 10 separate water systems, including seven microfiltration treatments systems, and a water distribution network comprised of over 415 miles of water mains and more than 2,112 fire hydrants. We currently provide wastewater collection and conveyance through over 232 miles of mains, and treatment at four major facilities and five smaller facilities including the Middle River Regional Wastewater Treatment Plant, which is jointly owned by Augusta Water and the City of Staunton.
  • Augusta Water operates the Augusta Regional Landfill for Augusta County, the City of Staunton and the City of Waynesboro.
  • Augusta Water is governed by a Board of Directors. Each member is appointed for a four year term by the Augusta County Board of Supervisors. The Board of Directors holds monthly meetings that are open to the public at the Augusta Water Field Operations and Facility Maintenance building.
