Responsibilities: The Equipment Operator position is capable of performing all the essential job functions and has an understanding of the tasks required to efficiently operate the Augusta Regional Landfill in compliance with all environmental and safety regulations. May operate heavy duty equipment that includes but is not limited to a bull dozer, excavator, compactor, track loader, articulated haul truck, and motor grader in compliance with the company operating policies and procedures. May operate medium duty equipment that includes but is not limited to a water truck, hydro-seeder and rubber tire loader in compliance with the company operating policies and procedures. Title of Position: Landfill Water Truck Operator/Maintenance Worker

Location: Augusta Regional Landfill
Responsibilities: Operate a water truck in order to control dust emissions and to clean paved surfaces. Perform wash downs and grease jobs on landfill trucks and equipment. Maintain shop and other landfill facilities. etc. Operate mowing equipment to maintain the grounds around landfill facilities. Operate zero turn lawnmower, string trimmer, chainsaw, farm tractor, and bush hog. Maintain work areas and equipment in a clean and orderly manner. Remove trash, debris, mud, and snow from paved and unpaved landfill roads using a shovel or snow thrower. Perform general maintenance and basic repair on lawnmowers, weed eaters, etc. Use hand tools and perform a variety of manual tasks. Operate a 30-ton haul truck as needed. Load and operate a hydro-seeder and pull hydro-seeder with a wheel loader. Operate all equipment in a safe and appropriate manner. Paint landfill buildings and equipment. Qualifications/Experience: High school graduate or equivalent. Must possess a valid Virginia Driver’s License. A CDL license is preferred but not required.
