Location: Augusta Regional Landfill
Responsibilities: The Equipment Operator position is capable of performing all the essential job functions and has an understanding of the tasks required to efficiently operate the Augusta Regional Landfill in compliance with all environmental and safety regulations.
May operate heavy duty equipment that includes but is not limited to a bull dozer, excavator, compactor, track loader, articulated haul truck, and motor grader in compliance with the company operating policies and procedures. May operate medium duty equipment that includes but is not limited to a water truck, hydro-seeder and rubber tire loader in compliance with the company operating policies and procedures. May operate light duty equipment includes but is not limited to a mini excavator, pickup truck, skid steer, farm tractor, mowing equipment in compliance with the company operating policies and procedures. Follow appropriate standard operating procedures as guideline for operating and maintaining vehicles and equipment. Perform manual labor as required. Duties may include but are not limited to weed eating, picking up litter and installing or moving wind fence. Load, mix, spray, clean up the hydroseeder when utilizing Posi-shell as a daily cover material. Ensure that proper daily cover is applied at the end of each work day. Perform daily checks, pre-trip and post-trip inspections, and routine maintenance as necessary on equipment. Notify the Field Supervisor of material needs, equipment repairs, and work improvement suggestions. Maintain work areas, the maintenance shop, and equipment in a clean and orderly manner. Qualifications/Experience: DOZER OR EXCAVATOR EXPERIENCE HIGH PREFERRED. Must possess a valid Virginia Driver’s License and be able to operate a vehicle. Must have experience at construction work and also having experience in operating heavy duty equipment is preferred.

Responsibilities: Perform professional accounting and financial work for Augusta Water and the Augusta Regional Landfill, as assigned, with minimal supervision. Serve as a backup to other finance department staff, as necessary, in performing the daily operations of the department and ensuring compliance with Augusta Water’s accounting and purchasing procedures.
Qualifications/Experience: The Staff Accountant must possess an Associate’s Degree in business or accounting, or equivalent coursework, training, and/or professional experience.
The Senior Staff Accountant must possess a Bachelor’s Degree in business or accounting, or equivalent coursework, training, and/or professional experience.
Experience in governmental or fund accounting is preferred and knowledge of governmental procurement and purchasing is highly desired. Prefer knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles and Governmental Accounting, Auditing and Financial Reporting Standards.
Required Skills: Must have the ability to communicate in English, verbally and written, and be able to understand written and verbal directions, procedures, and communicate to others.
