On June 24, 2024 the Virginia Department of Environmental Quality issued a “Drought Warning Advisory Declaration” for the Counties of Augusta, Rockingham, Shenandoah, Frederick, Page, Warren and Clarke.

Augusta Water encourages our customers to implement Voluntary Conservation Measures, including the following:

Residential Customers:

1. Reduce lawn watering to no more than two times per week and water between the hours of 9:00 PM and 10:00 AM.
2. Reduce vegetable garden watering and water between the hours of 9:00 PM and 10:00 AM.
3. Avoid sprinkler use.  Use soil-soakers or drip irrigation.
4. Do not plant new landscaping or grass.

Commercial Customers:

1. Implement interior retrofit for all high water use faucets and materials.
2. Restrict washing of sidewalks, driveways, parking lots or any other paved surface except in the case of meeting health and safety standards.
3. Prohibit operations of fountains at commercial sites.
